In Memoriam
The Musical Memories Foundation is fortunate to honor those whose memories we want to live forever.

In memory and honour of Mr. & Mrs. James Gothmann.
Music was a quiet presence in James and Verna’s lives, often playing softly in the background throughout their day. Whether music was on with our mother in the living room and kitchen or in our dad’s office and his workshop, it brought them joy and relaxation. Certain songs still bring them to mind, reminders of small, ordinary moments made special by a familiar tune. In their final days, music therapy definitely brought them peace and comfort when their words and memories were fading. It was a beautiful experience for all of us to be a part of.

In loving memory of Dr. Bernard Amster (1922–2009), a devoted family physician who served with compassion and integrity in one of Los Angeles’s most underserved communities. Dr. Amster’s life was defined by selflessness, intellectual curiosity, and unwavering love for his children and grandchildren. His gentle presence and deep commitment to care left a lasting imprint on countless lives. A man of quiet strength, he made daily sacrifices to ensure his children had the tools to live freely and independently. Beyond medicine, he found joy in the art of Chinese cooking, approaching it with the same warmth and attentiveness that defined his every act. Dr. Amster’s legacy is one of love, service, and a tireless belief in the value of every human life. He is deeply missed, and forever remembered.

In honor of Harvey “Skip” Davis. May 3, 1954 – October 7, 2022. Skip to his friends, he was a kind, compassionate, and intelligent man. He was also an interesting person. A registered nurse who went on to receive a Ph.D. Degree from UCSF and taught at San Francisco State University and Dominican University. Truly an overachiever who loves sports, animals, and his life. He was taken from us much too soon. Skip is survived by his wife, Roberta, sisters Gail and Terry, and brother Bruce.
