Dean Nissen (Dancing Dean)

Dean Nissen, is an exceptional dancer and dedicated volunteer who embodies the spirit of community through the art of dance. A lifelong Bay Area resident, Dean’s passion for movement began in Junior High and has flourished ever since.

After a two-year service in the Navy, and an incredible career serving Fremont Unified School District and The City of Santa Clara, he has returned to his roots, diving headfirst into the vibrant world of rock ‘n’ roll, swing, line, cardio dance, and ballroom dancing.

As the Dance Ambassador for the Musical Memories Foundation, Dean reminds us all that everyone needs a little “D.E.A.N” in their lives – Dance, Excercise, Aerobics, and Nutrition! With infectious enthusiasm, he shares his ability to get people moving, and shows people new dance moves, and fosters the joy and connection that movement brings to our lives.

Dean is an inspiration to us all, and we are lucky to have him as a treasured member of the musical memories team and community.
