Melodies and Movement
Our Flagship Program!
- A 30-60 minute high quality and interactive live musical performance featuring both music and dance
- Includes a Musical Memories dance ambassador, encouraging connection, participation and interactivity for all program participants
- Customized to serve the unique needs of each senior community
Social Soiree
- A themed soiree social event, typically running 60-90 minutes in partnership with a private facility or a community agewell or senior center
- Decorations and refreshments are typically provided by the residence or center and the live music and dance instruction is provided by Musical Memories
- These events also feature a larger band of top call professional musicians
- Themes can include (but not limited to)
- Wild Wild West
- Rockin’ Rockabilly
- Class, Brass and Sass
- Tropical Paradise
- Glitter and Grooves
- The Senior Ball
- The Jingle Mingle
Musical Memories Movement
- A 30-45 minute movement class featuring a music element
- Encourages safe exercise, connection, participation and interactivity while having a really great time!
- We are currently running Drum Beats with Benefits, a cardio drumming workshop accommodating up to 20 participants
- Please note there is setup and tear-down time associated with this program and Musical Memories provides all of the equipment
Musical Memories Workshop
- A 30-60 minute positive outcome-based music lesson
- Featuring a specific instrument, interactivity, and hands on learning
- Promotes cognitive and social engagement while fostering a sense of accomplishment and personal growth
- Current programs include:
- Magic of Drums – a workshop featuring the Djembe Drum for 10 participants
- Strum for Fun – a workshop featuring the Ukulele for 10 participants
Community Concert
- Seasonal daytime concerts featuring live music and activities
- To produce a Community Concert, Musical Memories partners with cities, counties, senior centers, multiple senior living communities, transportation agencies and community businesses
- See our Swingin’ Singin’ Spring event in co-sponsorship with the City of Palo Alto which featured a 17-piece Big Band, a Sing-A-Long and costume contest
